The city of St. Joseph fireworks display is set for Friday evening along the riverfront. Entertainment and one of the viewing areas will be at the Heritage Park Softball Complex. Food and drink concessions will be available. The St. Joseph Symphony Concert Band will perform right up until the fireworks go off, at about 9:40 pm. Admission is free. Visitors can also watch the fireworks from their cars at the large parking lot at McArthur Drive and Waterworks Road, though no concessions or entertainment will be available there. The 27th annual Independence Day fireworks display is the largest in Northwest Missouri, with more than 1,000 shells to be blasted into the sky.
