Pipe Bomb Explodes Downtown

St Joseph Police this morning were called to investigate what at first appeared to be bullet holes in the glass doors of a vacant business across from the downtown Post Office.  Detective Richard Shelton says they now believe a pipe bomb was set off in front of the business last night.  Shelton says they've opened an investigation with federal agents.  The doors of the vacant business were damaged, as was a window at the Post Office across the street.  Officials closed off traffic on Eighth Street between Edmond and Charles as  they searched for debris and other evidence.  Shelton says their were no injuries.
