Who is Dr. Robert Permut, MD, M.H.A.- Chief Medical Officer - Heartland Health
Dr. Permut joined Heartland Health as Chief Medical Officer in December 2004. In this role, he provides guidance for the direction of medical services across all areas of Heartland Health, and oversees the quality and safety of clinical services. Dr. Permut also serves as the senior–most clinical spokesperson on behalf of Heartland Health.
Dr. Permut attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his Psychiatry Residency at Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine and a Medical Internship at the Mason Clinic in Seattle, Wash. He also holds a Master of Science in Health Administration from the Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Colorado in Denver.
Dr. Permut's previous work experience includes serving as senior vice president and chief medical officer of Lewis-Gale Clinic, Salem, Va., vice president of Medical Management at Advocate Medical Group, Park Ridge, Ill. and president and chief executive officer, Sinai Medical Group, Chicago, Ill.
Dr. Permut's academic and professional accomplishments include Certified Physician Executive — Certifying Commission in Medical Management, Distinguished Fellow — American Psychiatric Association, Diplomate — American Board of Medical Management and Diplomate — American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
